Festival Style Wedding - All day wedding music package

Nat and Marc’s festival style wedding in the Nottinghamshire countryside was an epic day of music, love and family, adorned with colour & fun. 'Foyfest' had that true festival vibe from start to finish and we had the best time performing for them. They chose our Singer/Guitarist for the ceremony & reception drinks and our Sax and DJ for the evening. I chatted to Nat after the big day to find out a little more about their planning and decisions that made this day feel truly special.

Read on to find out more about this great couple and their all day wedding music package with Married to the Music.

HOW WE MET & HOW THEY MET

One thing that really sticks out in my memory from meeting Nat and Marc at the Indie Wedding Fair was our discussion about the 90's anthem’ Children of the Night by Nakatomi. I’d describe the record as a very niche happy-hardcore dance tune which, for me, was a stalwart of the late 90’s dance scene. For them it was an anthem of school time and their youth, filled with cheeky snogs and chance meetings with one another. Little did they know the anthem would bring them back together years later at a house party, where they both found themselves single and Marc had made a playlist of school nostalgia…Obviously it had to find it’s way into the wedding somehow.

THE BIG DAY

Nat and Marc really wanted the song incorporated into the wedding but now you’ve heard it you’ll understand why they weren’t totally sold on it being their first dance. I immediately lurched into a suggestion of the song being pared back to just guitar and voice and thought how well it would suit our Singer/Guitarist Danny. It’s been done before with similar music (think DJ Sammie’s Heaven remix). Nat agreed to go for it, providing she’d be able to hear a snippet of the version before committing to walking down the aisle to it.

“After speaking to Cat, and the suggestion of stripping down the song and playing it acoustically while I walked down the aisle, I just knew it would be incredible. It was so personal to us, and it honestly helped create the most magical atmosphere for my entrance. I received a little snippet of the [aisle] song a few weeks before we got married and it gave me goosebumps listening to it. I am SO glad Cat suggested it - it was amazing!”

We thought the result was absolutely perfect and the stripped back guitar and vocal arrangement made for a stunning aisle entrance song. Danny also sang Stargazing by Myles Smith for the aisle exit which worked so beautifully.

Our guitarist Danny then played for Nat and Marc’s drinks reception whilst they chatted to their friends and family, drank (and sprayed) Prosecco and had some fun filled smoke bomb photos until it was time to sit and chill with dinner.

After the food, we moved on to the dancefloor for Nat and Marc’s first dance, incorporating another favourite song, Other Sides of The Moon by Lucy Spraggan.

This was immediately followed with a massive sax favourite, Jubel by Klingande which never fails to get guests on the dance floor and just starts the party off so well. Check out our Sax and DJ in action on the night

“…dancing with all my favourite people, to our favourite songs. It was just incredible.”

And of course our DJ Gareth James had to sneak in the original Children of the Night for a late night jump around!

THE DETAILS

A place setting at a wedding includes disco balls, pink wiggly lines on the table signs and blue and pink flowers in vases, with fairy lights behind

They found the perfect venue in Inkersall Grange Farm. Set among woodland and fields in Nottinghamshire, the cool tipi venue boasts a 150 person capacity, lovely wooden floors (great for dancing) and the luxury of being miles away from anything else; the perfect choice for a big old family rave and festival style wedding! And who better to dress it with colour pops, streamers & super cool disco balls than our amazing friends at  Village Green Events. We LOVED all the styling and fun touches like the table numbers adorned with their favourite song lyrics.

Nat and Marc’s love for music was really celebrated on the day in so many ways. When I asked Nat about their decision to choose Sax & DJ for the evening and guitar for the daytime she said,

“Initially, I just wanted a DJ and Sax, we wanted a festival theme for the wedding and I thought it would create an amazing atmosphere for the evening. Both me and Marc love a good dance, and we really wanted a proper party atmosphere and definitely got it.”

We have to mention how great everyone looked too. Nat's wedding dress (and jumpsuit) were epic, Marc looked amazing and the bridesmaids dresses by were incredible!

The party atmosphere was also excellent - we always love to see guests of all ages enjoying the music and Nat & Marc’s celebration was truly family orientated.

Chatting to Nat after the wedding, I was also interested to know how they chose their suppliers, as we were in great company throughout the day (see full list below and on the gram). Special mention to Chris at CRT Weddings for the amazing shots of us in action.

“...some [suppliers] really did feel like old friends; like people we would meet and have a drink with, and have a really great time. When I was explaining my vision for the wedding - the suppliers just totally got my vibe! They were easy-going, laid back, but absolutely knew their stuff and were clearly so passionate about what they do. I would not change a thing about the people I chose as suppliers, and really feel that the combination of people shaped our day.”

We’re so chuffed Nat and Marc chose us to provide one of our bespoke all day wedding music packages for them. It’s always a huge pleasure to work with couples who value and prioritise music for their big day. Check out the amazing team from the big day below:
