THE ALL DAY WEDDING MUSIC PACKAGE

Writer's picture: Married To The MusicMarried To The Music

Backstory

Georgia and Joe’s 1 year wedding anniversary is fast approaching so we thought we’d fill you all in on their fantastic day. They opted for the All Day wedding music package and if you read on you’ll see what it’s all about, what it can include and why it’s a bloomin great idea!

I imagine that when Joe proposed to Georgia in Thailand in early 2019, he didn’t think it would take 4 years to actually seal the deal. The story goes like this: they booked the beautiful West Mill for May 2021, booked us along with some other amazing suppliers, and went on to win our wedding fayre competition to receive £250 off their wedding music.

Alas, after all that planning May 2021 was not meant to be. None of us could have predicted the absolute wipe-out that Lockdown brought with it but we all know now, too well, the effect it had on weddings. They took it in their stride and rebooked for 2023 just to make sure they were clear of all restrictions. Finally the wedding actually happened in May 2023 and by this time they had gained a new mini member of the family to join in with the celebrations.

Their day was full of love, long standing friendships, great food and fantastic music of course. Both Georgia and Joe looked really great & watching them enjoy every second of the day with their closest crew was such a pleasure and absolutely worth the wait.

Music

We had a great team of musicians working together on this one to create the best day for Georgia and Joe. Their music taste is fun, feel-good and with a strong party vibe; think shots and ‘out-out’. Diving in for the All Day wedding music package meant they could fill each important moment of their wedding with bespoke musical choices that fully represented them as a couple. To get a feel of the this package, here’s a run down of Georgia and Joe’s act choices from Married to the Music:

Ceremony: Piano

Reception Drinks: Sax and trax

Evening Party: DJ, Sax, Bongos

The personalisation came through strongest with Georgia and Joe’s ceremony and we really enjoyed putting together their requests. No classic love songs, Disney or John Legend here! Our pianist, Ralph performed arrangements of the following tunes in a really chilled out & romantic style:

Aisle Entry

Signing of Register

Exit music

Other Piano Requests

Hear a snippet of our pianist performing the aisle entry here.

The setting for the reception drinks couldn’t have been better in the sunny outdoor space at the venue. Our sax player (which happened to be me) played the newly married couple out into the courtyard whilst the guests made a tunnel and showered the pair in confetti. I performed a range of chilled Ibiza tracks over a 2 hour slot, before all the guests were called into their meal. Because of the layout of the outside of the building, everyone can hear the music for the whole drinks reception; even when they’re taken away for the photographs.

The evening party kicked off with Jess Glynn’s My Love with a twist. A little romantic moment was had for the acoustic version intro before our amazing DJ mixed skillfully into the original. This was their sign to PARTY. Myself and our bongo player joined in straight away to kick things off and the energy was perfect with shots and heart sunglasses galore. Check out their full day of music in this little snapshot of a reel over on our insta feed.

Venue

The West Mill is set in an amazing, well maintained 1800s cotton mill. We love that there is a floor dedicated to each part of your day, meaning you don’t have to exit for room turnaround and cleaning. One floor is dedicated to the ceremony, another for the meal and another for the party as well as a bridal dressing room and further entertaining floor. For wedding suppliers, the access is great and the lift is incredibly useful for loading in our heavy DJ gear! The venue lends itself so well to our All Day wedding music package as it also has a beautiful courtyard overlooking the water, perfect for sunny reception drinks sets from sax, guitar, jazz band or string quartet.

Special touches

We saw so many special touches on the day including the incredible moment Georgia and Joe’s baby daughter took on the aisle entry in a mini cart, made by Georgia’s talented craftsman brother. She also loved the saxophone in the courtyard and was ‘chair/cart dancing’ to the chilled Ibiza vibes.

Another special mention must go to Chester the dog, who was centre stage for the outdoor reception drinks, mingling with guests and having the time of his life. I love this pic Rosie took of them having a little moment.
